Highlights
Cuenca
Day 1: Quito - Cuenca. Transfer to the airport for the flight to
Cuenca, a quaint, colonial city. On a morning walk, visit the
Modern Art Museum, San Francisco Square, the Flower Market, El
Carmen Cloister, Calderón Park and the Cathedrals. Drive
to El Barranco's historic residences, El Turi scenic lookout,
a textile workshop and Avenida Don Bosco, with its offerings
of typical foods. After lunch at Restaurante Villa Rosa, continue
to a Panama hat workshop and visit a handicraft village or soak
in thermal springs. Return to Cuenca. Dinner and overnight
in the Mansión Alcázar
-- Suite.
Day 2: Ingapirca Ruins. Travel though fascinating landscapes in the
provinces of Azuay and Cañar to the ruins of Ingapirca,
the main Inca site in Ecuador. A typical lunch at the Posada
de Ingaprica and a visit to the Ingapirca Museum before returning
to Cuenca. Dinner and overnight in the Mansión Alcázar
-- Suite.
Quito
Day 3: Cuenca - Quito. Choose a hike in the El Cajas National Park
or a drive to picturesque country villages. The national park
is a unique and beautiful place with the typical characteristics
of high altitude areas and glacial formations. Lunch at the Hostería
Las Dos Chorreras. The beautiful and varying Andean landscape
is the perfect setting in which our tour of country villages
evolves, as you discover enchanting places rooted in the past.
Lunch at the Hostería Ushupud. Return to Cuenca for the
afternoon flight to Quito. Reception and transfer to the Villa
Colonna. Dinner of French gourmet cuisine at Chez Jerome. Overnight in the Villa
Colonna.
Day 4: Quito - Your next destination. Continue
on a cruise of the Galapagos
Islands or an expedition to Ecuador's
Amazon Rainforest.

Day 1: Quito - Cuenca
Transfer to the airport for the flight
to Cuenca, a quaint, colonial city renowned for its cobblestone
streets and floral plazas. On your journey, you will discover all
the beauty and charm of one of Ecuador's loveliest cities, now
a World Heritage Site. The colorful squares, the warmth and hospitality
of the people, and the cheerful bustle will make your visit a
magical experience.
On a morning walk, visit
the Modern Art Museum, housed in a former Inca prison;
San Francisco Square; the Flower Market; El
Carmen Cloister, Calderón Park; and the new
and old Cathedrals.

Drive to El Barranco's historic
residences on the Tomebamba River; El Turi scenic lookout;
the textile workshop of Jorge Vega and Avenida Don
Bosco, with its offerings of typical foods.
After a traditional lunch at Restaurante
Villa Rosa, one of the city's finest, we'll continue to a
Panama hat workshop and visit the handicraft village of
San Joaquin or soak in the thermal springs at Baños.
Return to Cuenca with time to stroll around on your own and relax
before dinner. Dinner and overnight
in the Mansión Alcázar

Day 2: Ingapirca Ruins
Breakfast. Travel
though fascinating landscapes in the provinces of Azuay
and Cañar on your way to the ruins of Ingapirca.
Along the route, you will find singular attractions, such as diverse
and colorful fields, La Iglesia de la Virgin del Rocio
and a small workshop of traditional hats. Finally, you will arrive
at Ingapirca for the delightful experience of exploring
the main Inca site in Ecuador, once an important
ceremonial center dedicated to the Sun, or "Inti",
their principal divinity. A typical lunch at the Posada de
Ingaprica and a visit to the Ingapirca Museum before
returning to Cuenca. Dinner and overnight in the Mansión
Alcázar -- Suite.

Day 3: Cuenca - Quito
Breakfast. Choose
a hike in the El Cajas National Park or a drive to picturesque
country villages.
El Cajas National Park
Explore the El Cajas National Park,
a unique and beautiful place with the typical characteristics
of high altitude areas and glacial formations. The tour includes
a delicious typical lunch at the Hostería Las Dos Chorreras,
located within the national park, and interesting short walks
around crystal water lakes, where you can admire fascinating
vegetation and the peculiar geological formations. We recommend
that you bring a rain coat and good walking shoes. Return to
Cuenca for the afternoon flight to Quito. Reception
and transfer to the Villa Colonna,
a charming colonial home in the historic district. Dinner of French gourmet cuisine at Chez Jerome.
Overnight in the Villa Colonna.

Country villages (Bulcay - Gualaceo - Chordeleg)
The beautiful and varying Andean landscape
is the perfect setting in which our tour of country villages
evolves, as you discover enchanting places in Ecuador's southern
province of Azuay. Motoring along a scenic route, among
colorful fields and imposing mountains, you will visit picturesque
villages rooted in the past, such as little Bulcay, where
Cuenca's traditional attire is made; Gualaceo,
known for its artisans' and farmers' markets; and Chordeleg,
notable for its silver and textile shops. In all places,
you will appreciate charming details about the people's folk art
and daily life. After savoring a typical lunch at the Hostería
Ushupud, return to Cuenca for the afternoon flight
to Quito. Reception and transfer to the Villa Colonna,
a charming colonial home in the historic district. Dinner of French gourmet cuisine at Chez Jerome.
